JOIN US AS WE CELEBRATE OUR NEW MINISTER
Rev. Darlene Strickland joined us as our new minister here on Maui from Unity Church of
Lawrence, Kansas, in March, 2008. She was the Senior Minister of one of the most dynamic
and thriving new thought churches in America. Her talent for combining intuitive spiritual
insight, humor, and practical life experience inspires and cultivates positive transformation
and authentic being.
Her mantra, “Become what you are… and all that you are not will simply fall away” Is evidence
of her life...and reflective of her teaching.
Rev. Darlene holds an image of her congregation as a loving, inclusive community. "Anyone is
welcome. And if it doesn't work out, that's OK, too. We're also willing to help them find
something else that will work," she says.
She has a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Columbia University, and a Master's of
Divinity from Unity Institute in Unity Village, MO. where she was ordained as a Unity Minister.
She has been a music director, hospital chaplain and outreach ministry program director. She
initiated and directed a women's prison ministry program and a youth-facilitated senior-care
program.
She has served in senior management positions for childrens' toy companies and a computer
company.
